52 Dogs Rescued from Pleasant Prairie Home Filled with Dog Feces

Pleasant Prairie---A 66-year-old Pleasant Prairie man was taken into custody Friday and now faces numerous charges of animal mistreatment.

52 dogs were taken out of a home in the 86-hundred block of 120th Avenue just after 8 a.m. following a complaint about the number of dogs in the home---the dogs’ conditions---and---the condition of the home.

A search warrant was obtained and served on the property owner---but---because of the large amount of feces from all the dogs in the home---police personnel needed protective suits to conduct the search. The home was deemed uninhabitable by Pleasant Prairie officials.

The dogs were taken to the Safe Harbor Humane Society for medical evaluations.
