Both Suspects in a Mt. Pleasant Hold-Up & Chase Now in Custody

Updated Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.

Bristol---The second suspect that authorities had been looking for following a gas station hold-up and high speed chase has been apprehended.

Just before noon Wednesday, a man walked into a business where the chase ended late Tuesday night and asked to use the phone. Someone at the business apparently called 911 and deputies arrested the man without further incident.

Just before 8 a.m., deputies took into custody another man who'd been riding a bicycle on I-94.

Both men are believed to be responsible for an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday evening at the gas station located along I-94 in Mt. Pleasant

The robbers led authorities on a high-speed chase that ended in Bristol just off the interstate after Kenosha County Sheriff's deputies laid down spike strips that punctured a tire on the getaway vehicle.

Following the pursuit, the men fled into a wooded area.

One of the suspects surfaced a few hours later at a home on Wilmot Rd. which he apparently tried to enter. The homeowner got a handgun and fired shots at the suspect who then ran away.

Deputies and officers notified residents and schools in the area---and---continued the search.

The suspect on the bike was encountered at about 7:40 Wednesday morning. He'd been shot, and was taken to the hospital for treatment of a minor wound then jailed. Authorities said he had an Illinois warrant for his arrest on a charge of attempted murder.
