A shooting in Wheatland Thursday night that left one dead and three injured, including two intruders, was drug-related, according to Kenosha County Sheriff Dave Beth.

At a Friday morning news conference, the fatality was identified as 23 year-old Joseph Riley, who was renting the house where the shootings occurred. Riley was described by the sheriff as a drug user.

Riley exchanged gunfire with one of two male subjects who showed up at Riley's door Thursday evening around 10:30 and kicked it in, Beth said.

Those subjects were identified as  20 year-old Markeith Wilson and 17 year-old Demarco Hudson, both of Racine.

Both suffered bullet wounds, and were driven to the BP gas station in Paddock Lake by a third man who'd been driving a four-door black sedan.

Both Hudson and Wilson were treated for their gunshot wounds and released into custody. At last report, investigators were still looking for the car and its driver.

A woman who identified herslef as Wilson's mother disputed an earlier report that her son was the shooter at the door.

Back at the house, authorities came across an injured woman, who's now said to be in serious condition at a Milwaukee hospital. The woman was not identified.

In addition to Riley and the injured woman, a second couple was present in the home at the time of the shooting. Beth said. Investigators were talking to a man and were in the process of looking for the woman. They apparently weren't hurt.

While saying the incident was drug-related, Beth did not go into details at Friday morning's news conference.

The house is located just off of Highway 50 near the Fox River.

Beth said investigators were hoping to learn much more from both the suspects and victims.
