(WGTD)---The six remaining members of the Kenosha School Board will have no shortage of candidates to choose from when they meet next week to fill a board vacancy created by the resignation of Gary Kunich.
Eleven applications were received before Wednesday's deadline.
The candidates include three former school board members: Yolanda Santos-Adams, Kyle Flood, and Mary Snyder. Others on the list include retired Kenosha Unified Administrator Howard Moon, retired Kenosha County Job Center administrator Adelene Greene, local education professor Todd Price, and Steven Davis, Kyle Holder, Susan Poland, Stephen Raclaw, and Mary Tendayi Esquillin.
The board will interview the candidates Tuesday night, then make a decision.
The strong interest in the vacancy is in contrast to last spring's election when two incumbents were up for reelection and drew no challengers.
