Infant Stable After Life-Saving Rescue by Kenosha County Sheriff's Deputy

(WGTD)---A Kenosha County Sheriff’s Deputy is being credited with saving the life of a newborn.

Sunday evening at about 6, dispatchers received a call from a Paddock Lake home of a two-day-old infant who was not conscious, not breathing and beginning to turn blue.

Deputy Michael Colaluca was the first to arrive.

According to a news release from the sheriff’s department, Colaluca started first aid, which included back blows and chest thrusts. The baby started to breathe again.

Salem Lakes Rescue arrived and took the child to the hospital.

The baby is in stable condition.

The department is using the incident to remind residents that basic first aid and CPR classes are available online at redcross.org.
