Mother: Son's Shooting Death Was Intentional; Charges in I-94 Hit & Run

Kenosha---The mother of a 23 year-old man who was killed by his 15 year-old cousin last weekend says she doesn’t believe the teen’s story that the death was an accident. A tearful Karen Bialas spoke to reporters Tuesday night just before a candlelight vigil outside of the apartment where the shooting took place. The mother says the story doesn’t square with what she’s heard, and with her examination of the Wilson neighborhood apartment. The Kenosha County District Attorney's office is expected to announce Wednesday whether it'll seek to convict the teen on a charge of intentional homicide or whether the matter will remain a case of negligent homicide in juvenile court. This isn’t the first tragedy that the Bialas family has had to face involving Sean. He was severely injured two years ago when guards at the Kenosha County Detention Center tried to restrain him. At the time of the shooting last weekend, Bialas, a quadriplegic, was in a wheel chair.

Racine---Statements from eye witnesses and a tipster led sheriff's deputies to arrest a 20 year-old Town of Raymond man for hit and run over the weekend. Ryan Holterman was formally charged Tuesday and then released on bond. According to the criminal complaint, Holterman, just before the crash on I-94 near Highway 11, had been speeding and driving recklessly. The car he rear-ended had been parked on the shoulder with mechanical problems. The two people inside purportedly jumped out as the car careened into the ditch. Holterman then allegedly fled, driving away on just three tires. After receiving a tip, sheriff’s deputies found the heavily-damaged vehicle under a tarp in a barn about two miles away.
