Proposed Apartments Trigger Concerns from Bristol School

Kenosha's Plan Commission is expected to consider at its regularly-scheduled meeting Thursday two separate proposals for nearly 400 new apartments.

One proposal apparently has the Bristol School District worried that it may not be able to handle the expected influx of new students.

The proposal that has the K-8 school concerned is a 200-unit addition to the Springs at Kenosha complex in the northwest quadrant of I-94 and St. Hwy. 50. The complex already has 280 apartments.

The property is located within the city limits but is included in the boundary areas for Bristol School and Central High School.

According to Plan Commission documents, a representative of the district may show up Thursday to discuss the concerns.

The second apartment proposal is for a new complex to be located just northwest of Shopko on 52nd St. that would include 192 units.
