Racine---The troubled Machinery Row rehab project now seems to be dead in the water. At last night’s meeting of the City Council’s Committee of the Whole and the Redevelopment Authority---City Administrator Jim Palenick said the now-likely future of the former JI Case buildings---on Water Street---is demolition due to concerns about their structural viability. City Development Director Amy Connolly also said that the second project developer---Gorman & Company---is no longer involved.
