(WGTD)---While Kenosha police came up empty-handed during a seven hour-long siege of a home off of 52nd St. Tuesday, officers got their man a few hours later at another location.

29 year-old Vernon Walker of Racine was located in a vehicle that was stoppped in the 4400 blk. of 30th Ave. just before 1 a.m. Wednesday. Police said in a news release that the unarmed man was taken into custody without incident.

Police initially believed there was a chance that Walker was in a home near 51st St. and 24th Ave. after a vehicle that he purportedly stole was found in the neighborhood. The Kenosha County Tactical Respone Team was called in.

After using various tactics designed to gain the attention of whomever might be in the house, entry was made, the house was searched and no one was discovered inside.

In addition to stealing a vehicle, Walker was wanted for criminal charges involving weapons.

During the siege, a several-block radius was cordoned off. City dump trucks were included in the blockade.

A robot was also deployed, although it got hung up on some living room drapes as it tried to gain access.
