A Suspect in Custody in Deonte White Murder; Highway 50 Traffic Accident Takes a Bizarre Turn

Kenosha police say that a suspect---believed to be involved in the murder of Deonte C. White---was taken into custody by patrol officers on a Probation and Parole detainer the day White was found dead in an alley near 25th Avenue and 67th Street. Charges will be referred to the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office upon completion of the investigation. It is expected that homicide related charges will be filed within the coming days by the District Attorney’s Office. 27-year-old White was apparently shot to death.

 

The 25-year-old driver of a truck that hit several other vehicles that were stopped at a red light on Highway 50 in Pleasant prairie yesterday afternoon had apparently been shot in the head before the accident. According to a news release from the Pleasant Prairie Police Department---that accident---near 88th Avenue---shut down Highway 50 for a number of hours. That driver was taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital and then taken by Flight For Life to Froedtert Hospital. There was also a 25-year-old female passenger---from Kenosha---inside the truck at the time of the collision and gunshot. Another driver from a different vehicle was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. This case is being investigated by the Pleasant Prairie Police Department with the assistance of the Wisconsin State Patrol Accident Investigation Unit.
