World-wide March for Science has Kenosha Component

Kenosha---Over 250 demonstrators marched on 30th Ave. in front of Gateway Technical College Saturday morning, part of a world-wide demonstration in support of science.

The Kenosha protest was organized by the progressive group, Forward Kenosha, and held in conjunction with an Earth Day commemoration that was going on inside Gateway's Academic building and elsewhere on campus.

The scientists involved in the demonstrations say they're anxious about political and public rejection of established science such as climate change and the safety of vaccines. They're also concerned about U.S. government budget cuts.

The Associated Press reports that the March for Science was dreamed up at the Women's March on Washington, a day after President Trump's inauguration.
