(WGTD)---A 72-year-old Kenosha man is facing charges of sexual assault and battery for allegedly trying to rape a woman he met on Facebook.
Michael Erenberg was charged Wednesday with 1st degree sexual assault, disorderly conduct and battery. A $100,000 cash bond was set.
According to the criminal complaint, the woman said she agreed to go out with Erenberg after exchanging messages and speaking to him on the phone. Erenberg reportedly picked her up and drove her to his house in the 5500 blk. of 18th Ave.
The woman told investigators she immediately noticed an inordinate number of box cutters in the house. The woman started texting her concern to a friend. Erenberg purportedly became annoyed and placed a box cutter to her throat and led her to his bedroom. Sexual contact and an altercation allegedly occurred.
Afterward, Erenberg purportedly apologized and drove the woman to a restaurant for dinner. That's where she got the attention of restaurant staff and police were called.
According to the complaint, Erenberg confirmed to investigators how he had met the woman but denied that anything had happened.
