(WGTD)---A Kenosha man is facing charges for allegedly having sexual contact with his girlfriend's children. 37-year-old Derrick Curtis is also accused of strangling and beating the woman.
According to the criminal complaint, the investigation began early Saturday morning when the woman, who may have been at work, received a message from her 10-year-old daughter stating "help me I don't know how to tell you this but Derrick is bad he touch me in an inappropriate way and has been taking pictures while I'm asleep...help me mama."
The girl later told her mother that the touching and photographing purportedly took place 5-6 times since October of last year. A six-year-old child said she was touched twice by the defendant.
The older girl said she didn't report it sooner because she was afraid of the defendant.
In addition to counts related to the alleged sex crimes, Curtis was charged with battery and strangulation in connection with incidents involving the mother.
According to the complaint, Curtis has a non-extraditable warrant in Illinois for failing to update his address in that state's sex offender registry.
Bond for Curtis was set Monday at $75,000.
