Change of Venue For the Racine City Council

June 3, 2025 8:30p

(WGTD)---Racine Mayor Cory Mason gaveled to order Tuesday night's regular meeting of the city council in the Racine Public Library rather than in the council chambers in city hall.

That's because a two-month-long elevator repair project is making the upper floors of city hall inaccessible to disabled residents. The council's meeting room is on the second floor.

Tuesday's night's meeting in the library was held in the building's community room.

The meeting was streamed live and archived as usual, except the quality wasn't up to snuff.

Council meetings---including committee meetings--are expected to be held in the library through July.
