(WGTD)---A Chinese-based company that at one point announced plans to build a battery manufacturing plant in Indiana is in discussions with Mt. Pleasant.
Meeting in closed session Monday night, the Mt. Pleasant Village Board is expected to discuss a "potential development agreement" with Shenzhen Kendali Industry Co.
The agreement would be for a site in Tax Incremental District #3. The TID covers several hundred acres south of STH 20 between International Dr. and West Rd.
A village spokesman on Friday declined to comment on the agenda item or the nature of the proposed development.
It's unclear whether Kendali's plans for New Carlisle, Indiana that were announced in 2024 ever materialized.
