Daylong Standoff Ends in Racine; Two Injured

From Racine Police: 

On July 22, 2025, at approximately 11:03am, officers were called to the 1100 block of Reschke Av for a report of a party that had been shot. 

A 48-year-old female was located suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The female victim was taken to the hospital and transferred via Flight for Life for further treatment due to the extent of her injures. 

The suspect, a 51-year-old male, fled back into the home leading to a standoff with law enforcement. 

Police Crisis Negotiators established sporadic communications with the suspect throughout the incident, encouraging him to surrender. Communications ultimately ceased. 

At approximately 6:30 p.m., the RPD SWAT team made entry into the residence and located the male suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The male suspect was transported to the hospital and also transferred via Flight for Life due to the extent of his injuries. 

Racine Police investigators are interested in any additional information that anyone may have regarding the initial shooting incident. Per department procedure the Kenosha Racine Area Investigative Team was requested and activated. The Kenosha Police Department will be handling the Investigation regarding the standoff.
