(WGTD)---A local banker has been named to lead a new initiative at UW-Parkside that aims to strengthen ties between the school and the communities it serves.
Steve "Rocky" Donovan, a former Executive Vice President at Community State Bank, will serve as the university's inaugural Executive Director for Partnerships.
He'll be in charge of the school's new Hub for Partnerships and Workforce Innovation. The office will strive to create new internship opportunities for students, explore research partnerships with local businesses and non-profits and offer workforce training.
In addition to his work at the bank, Donovan has held numerous leadership roles in various civic groups.
