Foxconn Promises Hundreds of New Jobs in Mt. Pleasant; Data Center Demand is Fueling the Increase

Nov. 25, 2025 8p

(WPR/WGTD)---The demand for artificial intelligence is what's behind Microsoft's data center expansion in Mt. Pleasant. And now it appears Foxconn has also gotten into the act.

Foxconn plans to create more than 13-hundred new jobs in the village over the next several years, according to a statement Tuesday from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. The agency says under a reworked deal Foxconn could earn up to $96 million in tax credits through 2029.

Foxconn already employs an estimated 14-hundred workers in Mt. Pleasant.

A statement from Foxconn says the expansion is in response to rising demand for data infrastructure.

Just a few days ago came word that Foxconn will collaborate with U-S based OpenAI to design and engineer data center racks, components and other artificial intelligence hardware.

In addition to Mt. Pleasant, Foxconn has four other factories in the U.S.

Mt. Pleasant Village President Dave DeGroot tells Wisconsin Public Radio that the village can't comment on the specifics of Foxconn's new plans, but said the village looks forward to working with the company.
