(WGTD)---A fundraising campaign is underway to raise money for the family of a man who was struck by a stray bullet near Eagle Lake in Racine County.
25-year-old Parker Palmen was driving with friends in a pickup last weekend when he heard a loud noise and felt pain. A bullet had pierced the side of the truck, passed through Parker's left knee, and then came to rest in the truck's center console.
According to WISN TV, a 45-year-old man was arrested the same day. He apparently had not been aiming for the truck.
According to a GoFundMe page, Palmen's recovery will be lengthy, and he won't be able to work as a heavy machinery operator for the foreseeable future.
Donations will be used to cover the living expenses for Palmen, his fiancee and the couple's six-year-old daughter. As of Thursday night, more than $6,000 had been raised toward a $10,000 goal.
