Kenosha County Fatality; Walworth County Deputy Rear-Ended

A 21-year-old man was killed Wednesday evening when his motorcycle hit the side of a pick-up that was making a turn on County Highway 'K' about three miles west of the interstate. According to a release from the Kenosha County Sheriff's Office, excessive speed on the part of the motorcyclist was cited as a factor. The man's identity wasn't revealed. According to the release, the body of the motorcyclist struck the windshield of an SUV that had been behind the pickup. The motorcycle itself became wedged underneath the SUV and both broke into flames. The occupants of the SUV and pickup suffered minor injuries.

A driver rear-ended a Walworth County Sheriff's deputy on I-43 in the Town of Darien. According to a news release from the department, 41-year-old Kristin Belongia was eating while driving and wasn't paying attention. The deputy spotted a vehicle behind him closing fast and tried to speed up to avoid a crash but couldn't. The deputy suffered minor injuries. Belongia was cited for inattentive driving.
