(WGTD)---The Kenosha Innovation Neighborhood—the redevelopment site in the heart of Kenosha where auto manufacturing once took place—is getting a state grant to further its goals and those of local entrepreneurs.
The project is benefitting from $1.6 million in grants from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. that were announced last week to help groups that are positioned to assist entrepreneurs.
According to a news release, KIN’s $167,000 share will help fund a pilot project to integrate financial and technical assistance with mentorship and artificial intelligence-driven tools for business growth.
Also, KIN is working with Carthage College to develop a partnership to provide business, law and technology resources while offering students experiential learning opportunities.
In addition, KIN is organizing a Southeast Wisconsin Pitch Competition this fall to identify and support top startups.
KIN is expected to open its flagship building--the Kenosha Innovation Center-- this fall.
