(WGTD)---The Mary Lou & Arthur F. Mahone Foundation has announced the hiring of a Racine woman to strengthen its effort to place low and moderate income minority students on tracks for success.

Stacia Thompson will serve in a "fractional executive capacity" as the Foundation's Chief Workforce Strategist.

Thompson will continue to lead her Stacia Thompson Impact Collective, a consultancy that specializes in workforce innovation, burnout prevention and sustainable leadership. Thompson is the author of a book titled, "Pause: The Power of Intentional Rest."

At the Foundation, Thompson will guide its Career Exploration Organizing Mentoring program as it focuses on STEM education, employment and economic sustainability and life skills development. A core component is setting up internships with area companies and non-profits.

In a news release, Thompson said her goal is to create a "seamless pipeline between classroom achievement and career-sustaining employment."
