(WGTD)---A Williams Bay attorney with experience in private practice, the Walworth County District Attorney's Office and the state Justice Department has been appointed by Gov. Evers to fill a vacancy on the Walworth County bench.
Samuel Berg will replace the retiring Judge David Reddy and will fill out his term that ends in July of 2027.
Since last year, Berg has been a senior associate at Gardiner Koch Weisberg & Wrona in Lake Geneva. Previously, he spent four years as an assistant district attorney. Earlier in his career, Berg served as an assistant attorney general in the civil litigation unit of the Wisconsin Department of Justice.
A news release issued by the governor's office includes expressions of support for the appointment from Reddy and Walworth County District Attorney Zeke Wiedenfeld.
The circuit court in Walworth County has four branches. In addition, there are two court commissioners.
