A new weekend program schedule is in place at WGTD.
The moves were necessitated by the elimination of four programs that were produced by WPR for national distribution. The cost-cutting move was announced earlier this year.
Highlights of the new weekend schedule include an extra hour of "Weekend Edition" on both Saturday and Sunday and a new show. "Wisconsin Weekend" is an extension of the M-F "Wisconsin Today", a news magazine hosted by Rob Ferrett and Kate Archer Kent.
Our Saturday morning block of local public affairs programs remains, but the schedule is pushed back an hour and now starts at 11 a.m.
