(WGTD)---The Mt. Pleasant Village Board will be hosting a public meeting Wednesday that’s designed to lay out in detail the 2018 agreement between Foxconn, Mt. Pleasant and Racine’s water utility which some fear could leave the village saddled with millions of dollars in extra water payments.
The meeting will be held Wednesday evening on Gateway’s Racine campus in the same lecture hall where Foxconn skeptics dissected the overall Foxconn development earlier this month.
Wednesday’s meeting will focus on the water deal.
In 2018, Mt. Pleasant guaranteed a certain level of water usage.
Foxconn’s downsizing left people wondering about the village’s obligations.
Village officials have said they believe overall development in the village in the coming years will mitigate any penalty payments.
Wednesday night’s meeting begins at 6.
