Pastor, Former KUSD Principal, Sought on Fresh Sexual Assault Charges

March 13, 2026 1:15p

(WGTD)---A former Kenosha Unified principal who beat sexual assault charges that were filed against him in 2019 is being sought in connection with new allegations.

Kenosha Police said Friday that investigators have established "probable cause" to arrest Curtiss Tolefree Jr. for Second Degree Sexual Assault, "specifically sexual contact or sexual intercourse with a person who suffers from a mental illness or deficiency."

Police declined to comment on whether the purported victim has connections to the Greater Mt. Hebron Kingdom Cathedral, the Kenosha church at 7445 20th Ave. that Tolefree leads.

In 2019, Tolefree was accused of having an ongoing sexual relationship with a student in the 2008-2009 school year while serving as a dean at Bradford High School. He later became principal at Washington Middle School before resigning from the district.

The case dragged on for years before it was eventually dismissed last fall. Court notes indicate that the purported victim did not want to testify and had moved out of state.

As of noon Friday, police were looking for help in locating Tolefree.
