A 37-year-old Racine man has been charged with stalking after he allegedly sent state Supreme Court Justice Jill Karofsky a series of intimidating emails. According to online court records, Ryan Thornton posted an $85,000 bond. Karofsky told investigators she has received numerous threats since she became a judge in 2017, but Thornton's messages frightened her to the point that she was afraid to leave her house to get her mail. When questioned, Thornton made profane remarks about Karofsky and said she was "going down." According to the court records, Thornton is awaiting trial in Racine County on disorderly conduct and bail jumping charges.

A 17-year-old Racine boy is facing charges in connection with the shooting last week at the Tyler Domer Community Center. According to the criminal complaint, Zeytavion Herrington fired a gun at another teen in the building. The wounded victim then ran off, seeking refuge in a vehicle whose owner was in the process of loading her two small children into the car. The mother told police the gunman then started shooting in her direction before fleeing. Neither the woman or the children were hit. Police tracked down the gunman hiding in some bushes.

A student at Park High School in Racine has been charged with making terroristic threats and disorderly conduct for allegedly causing a disturbance in the school, threatening the principal and his family and chasing another staff member into his office. According to the criminal complaint, 18-year-old Ryan Parks-Noel also threatened to shoot up the school. A subsequent search of the house where the defendant lives turned up a gun and ammunition.
