Racine Police Officer Exonerated in Fatal Shooting

July 15, 2025 8p

(WGTD)--- A Racine police officer has been cleared of any wrongdoing in the shooting death last May of a 50-year-old Milwaukee man.

Marlon Anderson was shot multiple times by officer Ben Eiden as Anderson exited his vehicle after it crashed into a parked car in the 1600 blk. of Franklin. Anderson, who'd been wanted for domestic violence, had been fleeing from police at the time.

After reviewing the results of a state Justice Department investigation, Racine County District Attorney Patricia Hanson wrote that no criminal charges would be filed, as Eiden had understandably feared for his safety.

Squad car dash cam video shows Anderson stepping out of his vehicle and raising a gun to his head. That's when Eiden started firing.

The gun that Anderson had been carrying was not loaded, according to the reports.
