SC Johnson Donates $500,000 to UW-Parkside Science Lab

Somers---UW-Parkside is receiving a $500,000 grant from SC Johnson Company to cover the cost of building and equipping a high-end science lab. It's the largest single gift to Parkside's College of Natural and Health Sciences, according to the school. 

The grant was announced jointly Monday by Parkside Chancellor Debbie Ford and SC Johnson Chairman and CEO Fisk Johnson. "This high-quality lab space will enhance educational experiences for local students and provide students with a collaborative environment," Johnson said in a statement.

The lab, to be located in Greenquist Hall, will be called the "SC Johnson Integrated Science Lab." A dedication ceremony will be held  Aug. 31st. 

Noted Ford: "SC Johnson has provided rewarding careers for hundreds of UW-Parkside graduates and internship opportunities for our students to enhance their educational experience, and has helped facilitate community discussions that shape and create an engaged educational experience offered by the university."
