(WGTD)---A silent vigil designed to put pressure on 1st District Congressman Bryan Steil is scheduled to begin Monday morning at the Racine County Courthouse.
Members of the Racine Interfaith Coalition, the Kenosha/Racine Quakers and other partners are expected to conduct the protest. A news release says the silent vigil will last as long as there are at least two people who feel moved to be there.
The organizers are calling on Steil to "reflect" on his role in shaping federal policies that directly impact immigrant families, access to social services and the preservation of democratic values.
Over the weekend, over 1,000 protesters took part in the Kenosha edition of the national 'No Kings' demonstration that took place in dozens of cities. In Kenosha, demonstrators filled Civic Center Park and line Sheridan Road in front of the park.
The Racine Journal Times reports another large crowd gathered at the corner of Highway 20 and Green Bay Rd.
