(WGTD)---The number of citations handed out to underaged drinkers at the Country Thunder music festival this year was way up.
Well over 200 were handed out, compared to just 67 last year. In 2024, 54 citations were issued. The year before that the number was 106.
Kenosha County Sheriff's Office spokesman Lt. Chase Forster said the increase was not the result of a planned effort but rather appears to stem from aggressive enforcement on the part of at least some of the deputies who were assigned to the four-day event.
Overall, 32 arrests were made on criminal charges while 310 county citations were issued.
Country Thunder reimburses the sheriff's department for the manpower that's assigned to the festival.
