(WGTD)---When it comes to finances, it appears that UW-Parkside has turned a corner.
Speaking on WGTD's Morning Show last week, Parkside Chancellor Lynn Akey reported that the school will be able to present a balanced budget for the next fiscal year beginning in July. They did it by implementing a reorganization plan that included just four layoffs. At the same time, the school set in motion plans to grow certain areas of the school. "We're excited that we are able to make changes that are future-focused but also an investment in our future," she said.
Classes for the new semester begin Wednesday. The school is anticipating a slight increase in the number of new undergraduate first-year students.
