Col. Rose Hunt is a resident of Hebron, Illinois, with more than 25 years of service in Civil Air Patrol, Col. Rose Hunt is the CAP national executive officer.

As national executive officer, she serves on the command team of Maj. Gen. Regena Aye, CAP’s national commander/CEO. Among her duties are moderating Command Council meetings, working with Board of Governors preselection committees, and vetting instructors for the Education and Training Program’s Volunteer University as well as all CAP national volunteer positions. She also helps select national professional team members, leads working groups, and collaborates with Aye on awards and promotions and represents her at CAP events.

Before her appointment, effective Aug. 17, 2024, Hunt served as the commander of the Great Lakes Region. In her role as region commander, she oversaw more than 6,600 volunteers, 66 powered aircraft, 110 vehicles, and six gliders across Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
