In memory of the late Jane Goodall, we rerun a portion of a 2018 interview with Goodall's primary biographer Dale Peterson- talking about his book "The Ghosts of Gombe: a True Story of Love and Death in an African Wilderness." The book primarily concerns a tragic incident that occurred back in 1968 when a young volunteer for Goodall's chimpanzee research camp died under mysterious circumstances. The book, among other things, chronicles what life was like for those who lived and worked in the research camp - and includes many extensive observations about Dr. Goodall herself.
