(WGTD)---Several events commemorating the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11th will be held in the WGTD listening area Friday
Among them is a ceremony that'll take place at Gateway Technical College's HERO Center in Burlington which hosts a monument that features a small section of a steel I-beam taken from the wreckage of the World Trade Center. The artifact was presented to Gateway by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation of New York City. The donation was given in part to inspire future generations of heroes.
Aiming to mark the sequence and times and events in the attack, the event will begin around 7:15 and conclude a little after 9:30.
Friday afternoon beginning at 1, the City of Kenosha will join with the county, and the Knights of Columbus and the Pritzker Military Museum and Library to mark the day at the Pennoyer Park bandshell. WGTD's Greg Berg will emcee the event.
