2nd Downtown Kenosha Apartment Building Up For Consideration

May 18, 2026 7:30p

(WGTD)---Another downtown Kenosha apartment building development appears to be on track.

A hearing for a conditional use permit for a seven-story, 212-unit building in the southwest corner of 6th Ave. and 54th St. will be held Thursday at the Kenosha Plan Commission.

The project is being undertaken by the same group that opened the five-story, 158-unit 'Karrick' earlier this year. The Karrick is located just south of the proposed building.

The buildings are the first two projects of an envisioned nine-block downtown redevelopment plan that once complete is expected to include a new city hall.

The building up for consideration Thursday evening has a modified configuration from the ten-story, 188-unit structure that was originally proposed. Both plans have first-floor retail.

Also Thursday night, the Commission will hold a hearing on another previously-announced residential development. An eleven-building, 240-unit complex is planned for vacant land just west of Snap-on off of 30th Ave. "Breeze Landing" is to include a fitness center and a clubhouse.
