4 Year-Old Shot in Kenosha; Woman Struck by Train in Racine

(WGTD)---Kenosha Police confirm that a four year-old was shot Tuesday in the 4000 blk. of 28th Ave. The child is hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition, police said. A 22 year-old man was arrested on charges of injury by negligent use of a weapon along with additional offenses. 

In other news: 

Late Wednesday night in Racine, a vehicle was struck by a freight train in the 1200 blk. of Washington Ave. A female occupant of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with what were described as serious injuries, police said. Police were looking for witnesses or anyone with additional information. 262-635-7756 is the number for the detective bureau.

A 64 year-old woman was rescued from her burning apartment at 3050 86th St. in Sturtevant Wednesday evening. The woman was taken to a Milwaukee hospital for treatment, according to a news release from the Racine County Sheriff's Office. Her condition wasn't reported. Two deputies who had tried to force their way into the woman's apartment but were driven back by smoke and flames were evaluated for possible smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is under investigation. 

An 18 year-old man was arrested while driving a stolen vehicle early Thursday morning on State Highway 20 near Renaissance Blvd. He was found to be suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The investigation into that incident is continuing.
