'Aging Well' Gets a Boost From Health Care Providers Who Adhere to the "4 M's"

June 1, 2026 5:30p

(WGTD)---With the population of older adults growing rapidly, there’s a stronger recognition in the medical profession that the treatment of elderly patients requires an approach that’s much different from the general population.

The keynote speakers at UW-Parkside’s 35th Annual Aging Well Conference coming up this Friday will focus on ways to achieve an age friendly health system.

Those keynoters-- Dr. Jonny Macias, Medical Director for Senior Services at Advocate Health, and Ann Gallo, Advocate’s Senior Services Program Manager---were on the Morning Show last week.

The main components of an age friendly health system have been dubbed the “four m’s”: Medications, mobility, mentation, or mental well-being, and what matters most.
