(WGTD)---The DNR has extended the Air Quality Advisory at least until noon Friday for the entire state. Air quality in southeast Wisconsin due to wildfire smoke has dropped to the hazardous level, the worst category in the five-step rating system.
Individuals in the sensitive group are advised to Stay indoors and keep activity levels light.
The DNR expects to see clearing of the smoke from west to east throughout the day on Friday as southerly winds pick up ahead of an approaching system. “Given this setup, we are going to extend the statewide air quality advisory until noon Friday,” the DNR says. “At that time, it will be possible that we will extend the advisory once again for eastern areas, especially those impacted by Lake Michigan.
