(WGTD)---Kenosha Unified administration has rolled out a plan that's designed to build support for the district by strengthening the lines of communication.
The plan was developed after the school board last month decided that scheduling a funding referendum for November was premature, opting instead to look at the spring election.
The plan includes holding structured focus groups with parents, community members and staff to discuss priorities, challenges and opportunities. To pilot the process, people who spoke during the May and June board meetings will be invited to participate in the first session, which has been scheduled for next Thursday.
A second session has tentatively been scheduled for Aug. 13th before the full school board meeting as a committee of the whole.
Administration also wants to establish a Business and Civic Leader Roundtable and a Student Voice Council.
Other components include beginning the process of updating the district's strategic plan and conducting a community poll in advance of the potential spring referendum.
