Another Drought? Not Likely, at Least Not at This Point, Per NWS

May 30, 2023 4:15p

(WGTD)---The drier than normal and warmer than normal weather is expected to continue for the next several days. But that doesn’t necessarily portend how things are going to go for the summer.

National Weather Service Forecaster Aidan Korosky says the long-range forecast calls for near normal conditions.

But we're unlikely to make up the precipitation deficit this week. The seven-day outlook calls for the possibility of just some spotty showers Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and again Sunday afternoon.

Temperatures are expected to continue to run well above normal through the weekend.

The month of May was exceptionally dry, with less than an inch of rain having fallen. That’s about a-third of what we usually get.
