(WGTD)---A Burlington music teacher is facing criminal charges for having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl.
38-year-old Zachary Wendt was ordered held Thursday on bond of $500,000 by Racine County Court Commissioner Alice Rudebusch. Wendt is facing an eight-count mix of felonies and misdemeanors, including sexual intercourse with a child and possession of child pornography.
Both Wendt and the girl worked at the same music store giving lessons. In addition, Wendt is employed as a band teacher by Wheatland Center School.
According to the criminal complaint, Wendt and the girl engaged in a sexual relationship since March of this year that included sexting and intercourse on two occasions.
The complaint says Wendt advised the girl not to say anything because he'd lose his children. He also offered to send some of his students to her for lessons.
