Casino Coming?

July 16, 2022 12:30p

(WGTD)---Speculation is growing that the Seminole Indian Tribe, which owns Hard Rock, may try to revive a casino proposal for the Kenosha area.

The Village of Bristol confirmed this week that it is in the process of selling 60 acres of land it owns to a company called Kenosha LandCo. Kenosha LandCo has the same Florida address as the tribe.

The village says it accepted the offer because it was the highest of three bids. The land is located west of I-94 and north of Highway 50.

The purchase offer was accepted without village officials knowing what the buyer has in mind for the property.

Any attempt to set up a casino would have to be approved by the City of Kenosha, because the property in question, while owned by Bristol, is actually now within the city limits as the result of a boundary agreement.

Mayor Antaramian tells WISN TV that the city hasn’t entered into any negotiations or conversations with the tribe.

You may recall that Hard Rock and the tribe were involved in a deal a few years ago with the Menominees to create a casino in Kenosha, but then Gov. Walker killed it.
