CNH, Mt. Pleasant Village Board, Lay Groundwork in Event of a Strike

Apr. 27, 2026 7:45p

(WGTD)---The Mt. Pleasant Village Board has approved an agreement with CNH that's designed to head off any illegal activity in the event that a labor strike takes place.

Under the contract, the manufacturer will reimburse costs incurred by the village's police department in stationing officers outside of the plant gates.

The company purportedly told the village that it's anticipating a strike. Negotiations over a new contract are said to be continuing.

A strike that began at CNH in May of 2022 lasted some 10 months.

The contract makes clear that the agreement would not give the company operational control over the officers that are stationed outside of the plant.
