Crash at Busy Intersection; New Details on Home Invasion; Kroger Changes

Kenosha---A driver who allegedly blew through a busy intersection Saturday morning and slammed into two other vehicles is in critical condition, police said. The 17 year-old driver hasn't been identified. The drivers of the other two vehicles weren't injured. According to a news release, police were in the process of looking for a driver who'd been speeding and driving recklessly when they received a call of a multi-vehicle crash at the five-way intersection at 75th St. and Pershing Blvd. Officers found the driver they believe they'd been looking for lying on the pavement. He'd been ejected from his vehicle. The investigation is continuing.

Somers---Investigators who are looking into a Friday morning home invasion that resulted in injuries to the elderly homeowners have released a few more details. The couple's assailant reportedly demanded drugs and money and stole the homeowners' cell phones. The 84 year-old man and his 83 year-old wife are said to be making good progress in their recovery from head injuries. The offender remains at large.

Kenosha---Dairy products are out and soup stays and grows in a planned reconfiguration of the Kroger company's food production facility on 52nd St., according to a report in the Milwaukee Business Journal. The $19 million project will enable an increase in prepared soup while the production of ice cream, sour cream and drinks will be moved elsewhere. Kroger recently bought out Pick 'N' Save, which included the commissary. The changes could add 10 or 15 new jobs.
