(WGTD)---An icy bridge on I-94 over State Highway 20 led to a series of accidents Friday morning around 7.
According to a news release from the Racine County Sheriff's Dept., the driver of a pickup lost control and slammed into the center median wall, blocking the far left lane.
A sheriff's squad that pulled up behind the truck was rear-ended in a chain-reaction crash of vehicles that were waiting to merge into an open lane.
The deputy was outside of his squad at the time and wasn't hurt. The driver of the vehicle that couldn't stop in time thereby triggering the chain reaction was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Three of four I-94 southbound lanes at Highway 20 were closed for about an hour.
