(WGTD)---A criminal complaint that details the accusations against a Walworth County sheriff’s deputy who resigned last week has been unsealed.
36-year-old Gerardo Baca is accused of sexually assaulting a half-dozen vulnerable women and girls over a ten-year period while off-duty.
In most cases, Baca befriended the alleged victims before taking them to his Delavan home where the assaults allegedly occurred. Several of the alleged victims were said to be highly intoxicated. Two were girls who were working as interns.
The most recent alleged incident occurred last fall. A woman who considered Baca to be a friend went to his home wanting to discuss a troubling matter at work. The woman said she had just finished working a double shift and was exhausted. She alleges that Baca forced himself on her, then threatened to investigate her boyfriend for domestic violence when she rebuffed subsequent advances.
The complaint says investigators found videos of sexual contact with two of the women.
Baca has been charged with 19 felonies, including multiple counts of second and third degree sexual assault involving an intoxicated victim and capturing intimate images of people. Others include stalking and threats to communicate derogatory information.
Baca is being held in the Waukesha County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
Up until the time of his resignation last week, Baca had worked for the Walworth County sheriff’s office since 2017.
