Fatal Car Accident in Somers

UPDATE:  There was a fatal, one-car accident in Somers late Tuesday night. The Kenosha Sheriff’s Department reports that a car headed northbound on Highway H went out-of-control---crossed the center line---and---crashed into a ditch killing the driver---a 28 year old Racine man.  A passenger in the vehicle was seriously injured and transported to Froedtert Hospital by Flight for Life.  The initial investigation has determined that speed and alcohol are factors in this crash.  This incident is still under investigation.

Two other incidents earlier in the day also required Flight for Life. At 3:15pm sheriff’s deputies and Bristol Fire/Rescue responded to a traffic crash with injuries on 128th Street (Highway WG).  A 2003 Buick Century had been westbound on 128th Street and for unknown reasons left the roadway and struck a tree.  The driver---a 55-year-old male from Trevor---suffered serious injuries and was transported to Froedert. The cause of the crash at this time is unknown.  Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.  The crash is under investigation.

Then---at 9:53pm  sheriff’s deputies and Somers Fire/Rescue responded to the 500 block of Sheridan Road (Hwy 32) for a traffic incident involving a subject who had fallen out of a moving vehicle.  Reports indicate that a 31- year-old Racine man was the rear seat passenger in a vehicle operated by his 30-year-old girlfriend.  During an argument with the woman, the injured male leapt out of the moving vehicle.  The man suffered serious injuries and was transported to Froedtert Hospital.  This incident is currently being investigated.
