(WGTD)---Firefighters and police responded Tuesday afternoon to a garage fire just three blocks from the city's main fire station.
The blaze in the garage at 54th St. and 23rd Ave. appeared to have started on the south side of the two-bay structure. Smoke could be seen billowing from the mid-town neighborhood as firefighters were dispatched around 2:40 p.m.
Police officers pounded on the doors of a large two-story home located just feet from the garage. It didn't appear that anyone was inside. The building was not damaged.
