Kenosha Coalition for Dismantling Racism Explores Backlash

Feb. 6, 2024

From the Kenosha Coalition for Dismantling Racism:

In the summer of 2020, following the murder of George Floyd, there was a great deal of attention and energy around the topic of race, the history of racism, and how racism persists today. In the nearly four years since that time, while the work continues, there has been a backlash around anti-racism work, diversity, equity and inclusion. The cultural landscape around these conversations has changed.

In this Courageous Conversation, former Carthage professor, Dr. Roger Moreano, will offer perspective as a seasoned practitioner as well as encouragement to keep going as an advocate committed to ushering in change. We believe both are timely for our community.

Dr. Roger Moreano, founder and president of Bridges 4 Justice LLC, will discuss the unique situation of anti-racist work in 2024, and he will offer strategies for the work ahead. Bridges 4 Justice is a diversity and inclusion organization, originally designed to provide training on creating greater equity and how to meet the ever-evolving challenges of diversity and inclusion in organizations and institutions.

A moderated question and answer session will follow the presentation.
